Heterogeneity – Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu wants to see more developers in the web 3in order to realize the dreams of decentralization in the sector.
Web3: neither monopoly nor oligopoly
The paradox of decentralization would be that web3 is the prerogative of a few developers. Indeed, they have the skills required to create decentralized applications.
In an interview given to media Cointelegraph during Korean Blockchain Week 2022, Yat Siu raised this issue. He also encouraged developers to join the web 3 sphere, to create diversity in the sector.
For the co-founder ofAnimoca Brandsdecentralization necessarily rhymes with the existence of choices, of alternatives, for users.
However, many developers operate today, complying with the rules laid down by the platforms of centralized giants such as‘Apple Where Google.

Choosing the best value for web 3
Yat Siu took the example of Facebook to illustrate the importance and benefits of plurality. If Facebook were built on a blockchain, the Animoca Brands co-founder says it could “transmit data freely”, and that “there could be [différents] Facebooks”.
Yat Siu, just like users in general, could then in this scheme, choose the version of Facebook, that would create for them “the best value”.
War of language, of standards?
At this stage, web3 is still an emerging sector. However, it is gradually gaining visibility and notoriety, thanks to the various initiatives in the field.
If blockchain and cryptocurrencies indeed hold much of their promise over the long term, a logical prediction would be that the number of web3 developers should naturally increase over time. Web2 could even lose its place as the dominant standard for application development.
However, some protocols attempt to accelerate this web 3 adoption process by the developers. With this in mind, NEAR Protocol has launched a development kit to allow the 20 million JavaScript developers, easily create applications on your blockchainn with this language.
After having done the praise of digital property, Yat Siu therefore raises the problem of the lack of developers in the web3. It would simply be absurd for a sector that has made decentralization its spearhead to finally fall under the control of a relatively limited number of developers, compared to those of web2.
You have the right not to understand anything about Web3. On the other hand, not being interested in Bitcoin is unforgivable! Don’t wait any longer to prepare for the future by going to register on the Binance platformTHE absolute benchmark in the sector (commercial link).
